The special microporous structure of the GORE-TEX fabric, made from expanded PTFE, contains around 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. These pores are Approx. 20, 000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapor. While water cannot penetrate the GORE-TEX membrane in liquid form, perspiration (water vapor) can easily evaporate. The result is a completely waterproof barrier that means the shoe can be used in all climates & guarantees maximum comfort & optimal breathability.
