The Hybrid vest is designed to be worn in places where there is not an extremely high ambient temperature & works best at low to medium humidity. The amount of airflow on the body determines the cooling effect & duration. By immersing it in water the Hybrid vest can be used as a wet cooling vest, but is also prepared for the separately available Macna Cool Packs. These are available in 21˚ & 29˚ & 37° versions. - Wet Immerse the product in water for 1 to 2 minutes. Then gently squeeze out the excess water. Finally, wipe the water repellent liner (vest / head covering) dry with a towel before use. & you are ready to go! The Hybrid Cooling Vest cooling material is designed for up to 200 wet/dry cycles (activations). Over time, the water absorption decreases, as the fibers cluster together in the fabric structure. After the first 10 wet/dry cycles, a reduction in water absorption may occur, after that, absorption remains relatively stable. This is a normal process. The material still offers very effective water absorption, evaporation & thus cooling capacity. The degree of absorption is also influenced by the method of maintenance of the product & the water quality. Activation
- Cool Packs The time needed for full activation depends on the Cool Pack temperature & the cooling method: Ice water: Approx. 20 minutes Freezer: Approx. 40 minutes Refrigerator: around 60 minutes You can also activate them by exposing them to an ambient temperature lower than: 19° C for the Cool Pack 21° C 26° C for the Cool Pack 29° C 34° C for the Cool Pack 37° C Whichever cooling method you choose, you can reduce activation time by not stacking the packs, but to lay them flat in a single layer. If you want to use them straight from the freezer, they may feel too cold to wear. Therefore, it is recommended to wait at least five minutes so that they can warm up to their set temperature of 21°C or 29°C, depending on the type of PCM you have chosen. Once the PCM reaches this temperature, it will hold it for hours!
