The chain tool KTW 2.5 is the reinforced further development of the KTW 2.0. It allows easy removal of the old & the precise installation of the new chain (with rivet lock) without having to laboriously remove the rear swing arm. The tool can be used to separate chains of all common brands (eg D.I.D, Regina, RK & others) & riveted with hollow rivet locks. The tool
Includes:: two mandrels with different diameters. The pre-assembled mandrel is now even stronger dimensioned & adapted to 5xx & 6xx chains. The enclosed mandrel is specially designed for cutting 4xx chains. Only a 19 mm ring or socket wrench is still required for use. The tool is also suitable for solid rivet locks when used with the supplementary rivet former set. The chain tool consists of the power-transmitting main tool & a patented positioning unit for the assembly of the rivet lock, which is characterized by a completely new & simple push-on option for the side plate of the chain lock. This newly developed, magnetic positioning unit ensures simple & at the same time absolutely precise assembly of the side plate of the chain lock. The magnets present in both the pressure plate & the counter plate hold the two parts of the chain lock &, by guiding them, enable precise, simple & convenient alignment of the chain lock parts in relation to each other. This is crucial for damage-free assembly of the chain lock & can be checked at any time through the recesses in the pressure plate. The magnets also ensure that the positioning unit adheres to the chain & does not have to be held constantly. With the main tool, the positioning unit can be used to slide the side plate onto the chain lock, a step that can be very time-consuming & very nerve-racking without the new positioning unit. The pressure & counter plates are designed to extend over the adjacent chain links, so that when the chain lock is mounted, the naked eye can tell when the link plate has been slid onto the two pins to a suitable distance. This largely eliminates the otherwise frequent damage to the chain or chain lock caused by assembly errors. Applications Separating chain Assemble chain lock Riveting chain lock pins Optional rivet head former supplementary set for solid rivet locks By using this supplementary set, the chain tool is able to process full rivet locks. The handling is simple: Replace the mandrel guide with the enclosed rivet former guide. Push the rivet former into the guide & the tool is ready for use. Power is transmitted to the rivet former via the mandrel.
