Back in early 2002, when fat tires reigned supreme, we sat down with a Portland based comic book team in a dive bar & fueled our creative fire with some refreshing Coors Light. The result was a tasty buzz & a napkin with a helmet graphic the likes of which the world has never seen. Your chance to see it again for the first time, the Alliance GT DL18 is a blast from ICON’s past & now part of your riding future. Once again the Alliance helmet has grown & developed to further enhance a classic. Enter the Alliance GT, the next iteration of the helmet built for the rider who craves versatility. Continuing our commitment to excellence, the Alliance GT is built with premier manufacturing processes & rigorous quality assurance procedures. This, combined with rigorous testing, ensures that the Alliance GT meets the highest safety standards in the world (DOT, ECE, PSC, SAI). Features Injection molded polycarbonate shell for strength & durability Sublimated Hydradry™ moisture wicking liner Meets DOT FMVSS 218 (US), 22-05 (Europe), & PSC (Japan) Helmet Safety Standards Rear exhaust ports prevent heat build-up Removable molded breath deflector reduces sign fogging Chin venting system reduces misting sign Fit The most common helmet fit type, the Intermediate Oval head is slightly shorter front-to-back & a little wider side-to-side. Venting 5 air intakes & 5 exhaust ports combined with strategically placed channeling in the interior energy absorbing EPS foam forces air into the helmet at low & high speeds. Weight A reduced shell profile helps reduce overall weight, while maintaining the the exclusive World Standard of ICON to suit your riding style. Exterior The helmet’s ventilation system consists of strategically placed air vents, intakes, air channels & exhaust ports. The main ingredient is the Supervent system featuring oversized intake ports controlled by individual vent triggers along with recessed supervents to reduce wind noise. Shield The Airflite has not one, but two shields. The unique quick-change fog-free shield keeps debris away from your money maker, while the internal interchangeable drop shield has the sun in check. No more swapping shields for cloudy or sunny days. Just reach up, flip the switch, & ride forever. Interior The removable sweat wicking Hydradry liner provides a snug & contoured fit. Air from the vents is channeled between the comfort liner & the protective, energy absorbing EPS foam liner to create a nearly perfect rider-focused interior. The airflow works in conjunction with the Hydradry liner to effectively reduce heat build up.
